About Charis

Charis Trench-Simmons, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN with ample medical experience and a true commitment to the field of women’s health care. At Prestige Healthcare OBGYN in Atlanta, Dr. Trench-Simmons works with her husband, Lorenza Simmons, MD, and skilled health professionals to serve women as they transition through all stages of life. Dr. Trench-Simmons offers an array of proven-successful aesthetic, gynecological, and obstetrical services.

After completing her undergraduate degree at the Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, Dr. Trench-Simmons obtained her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. She then continued her education with a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Tulane University in New Orleans and the WellStar Atlanta Medical Center.

For three years, Dr. Trench-Simmons served as a lieutenant commander and general medical officer in the United States Navy. She’s a prominent member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Specializing in weight management, adolescent gynecology, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Trench-Simmons works hard to provide the best possible personalized medical experience for women to lower disease risks and boost their confidence and well-being. For Dr. Trench-Simmons, the needs of the individual always come first.

Outside of the office, Dr. Trench-Simmons uses her creative flair to create distinctive jewelry. She also likes to travel and considers each journey an opportunity to learn and explore.
